 Here is a very special message direct from Alvin Stardust to his fans and Elvis Fans

Mark,great to chat just now. Here's a short note to the fans from me.Hi everyone, Alvin Stardust here. I'm really looking forward to meeting up with all you fellow Elvis Fans.at the gigs later this special year.I still remember when I sat in the cinema as a teenager to watch "Love Me Tender" and the first time I saw and heard Elvis.

 That moment changed my life and he stole my heart away. He's been my idol ever since.A weird and wonderful thing happened to me recently, I was asked to record a new album.

 Weird because I haven't been in a studio in around twenty years. Wonderful, because it meant for the first time in my career, I was able to write songs about my own life and the things I grew up with.So, of course the first song I wrote was from the heart and about my all time idol, Elvis.As a small boy I grew up with cowboy/country stars like Roy Rogers and Gene Autry.

 After moving from the east end of London, Mile End Rd., to Mansfield a small northern mining town.

 The words just spilled onto my guitar. From Marlon Brando, Jimmy Dean, Bridget Bardot, Eddie, Gene, Buddy and everything else.

 'Till the day Elvis came and blew millions of us, all over the World, completely away.The title ended up as 'My Sweet Elvis". 'Cos thats what he became.

I grew up with everything Americana, from country music, blues, rock n' roll, Harleys, Beutifull big trucks, and the one and only Jack Daniels. So a tricky little rocker I called "The Rev. Jack Daniels" has appeared. There some of my favourite songs like "Shakin' All Over" and "I Love Rock n' Roll".The whole album is done with love. It's called "I Love Rock n' Roll" and is out late April, on Universal.My favourite song is of course "My Sweet Elvis".If you get to hear it, I hope you can feel the way I felt as I sang it.
